.CHEESE. BALL.

This is the best cheese ball ever. My grandma used to make it and now every time I make it I think of her and smile.

2 8oz bricks of cream cheese softened
3T Pimento spread (kraft) you get it by the velveeta cheese stuff
1T worchestershire
1/3 Cup dried onion (minced)
1tsp vinegar
3/4tsp mustard
1/4tsp garlic salt
1/4tsp Accent
1/2tsp Tabasco

1/2 Cup chopped nuts (I use peacans)

Mix all ingredients except nuts together
Refrigerate 1/2 hour
Form into ball and roll into nuts

I think this tastes best on WHEAT THINS..

this is after the kids got to it and decorated it with the wheat thins..

the annual party

My dad's side of the family has a Christmas party every year, I can remember when I was little and it was held in my uncle's basement...good times...We are a much larger family now and for the longest time it has been held at a church. In the "good-old-days" the matriarchs of the family did all of the preparing, cooking and organizing. Three or four years ago they fazed that duty on to the next generation, meaning me and my willing cousins. Jody, Corinne, Dana and Marianne did most of the work and I helped a little, they amaze me! It was a great party, we had lots of hot chocolate, a baked potato bar, lots of treats, Santa, a game in which we decorated our parents like Christmas trees and of course the all important pinata!
Ethan and Archer got to sit on Santa's lap, Ryder was sleeping, but he did get in on the pinata action later. Needless to say it was a great party.. Thanks everyone that prepared, attended and helped clean up.

Giving some Thanks

What a great weekend!!! Sitting around, going to movies (Twilight twice and 4 Christmas') eating, snacking, grazing, eating some more, watching everyone play the Wii and the XBOX. Eric and I did put on an amazing dinner on Thursday, if I do say so myself. Too bad there was only 3 adults and 2 1/2 kids to enjoy, but we did have lots of left overs for sandwiches, YUM!

Everyone enjoys a little whipped cream!

My cousins playing Wii with E DOG

Me and Ryder Roo, pretty cute huh?

Have I ever told you how wonderful Eric is?? I probably have because I feel like I gush over him all the time, anyway, if you are one of the people that haven't heard me swoon over him before..lucky you! I know that I am just used to him doing everything that he does and I forget that most women don't have a hubby that washes windows, does dishes, does laundry, cleans the bathroom, cooks dinner, cleans the kitchen, does yard work and plays with the kids sometimes all in the same day. He really is amazing and I am in awe that I am the one that gets to spend forever with him. I better end this now before it gets too unbearable...

True to his name

-Snugglebug-
I was having a tough time waking up this morning (late night with my sister, cousin and aunt), Archer came in to tell me good morning and ended up climbing in and snuggling up. He was telling me how "big" he loves me and how soft my skin was and we were giving each other butterfly kisses. Then out of the blue he says the cutest thing. "Mom, when I get big like Dad, I am NOT going to be married and have kids cuz they will make me ANGRY. I just want to be big and play T games." I giggled and told him that as his grows big, I'm sure he will change his mind.

Mornings like this make me so thankful that I am a mom, I love my little guys so much and I am so excited to see them grow up into big boys and then someday men.

A ma zing

I got to go on a date last night!!! My very wonderful hubby took me to the Body Worlds exhibit. It was so interesting. I would love to go back again, maybe during the middle of the day when it isn't so crowded. VERY COOL!
here is a little blurb from the website to let you know what it is about.

Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS 3 & The Story of the Heart presents the form, function, complexity and beauty of the human body. Featuring a unique collection of more than 200 authentic human specimens including whole-body plastinates, organs and translucent body slices, this exhibit offers visitors profound insights into the human body, health and disease, and the intricate world of the cardiovascular system.

Check it out, it is worth the $$

Wiggle.. Wiggle...

E lost a tooth today, this is the first one that he has been able to pull out all by himself. Today at church it was kind-of just hanging there and it made him very nervous! He is so excited now that it is out. Good job E!!!!

Halloween and more...

Ryder was a scarecrow, sort-of, I couldn't get him to wear the hat.

Arch was batman, terrible photo...

E was Bond, James Bond

My wonderful big sis made up goody bags for all 3 kids..tons of fun stuff!!!

I love Halloween, but I am SO glad it is over...

E's hero

Today Ethan dressed up like a "real life hero" as part of "spirit week" at school. He woke me up this morning and told me he was getting in the shower and that he needed me to help get his church clothes together. I figured that his hero he was dressing like was his dad so I didn't ask questions.. He got all dressed and looked in the mirror and told me he needed glasses "because Bishop Herring has glasses".
Thank you Bishop for being E's "real life hero"!!!!!

all things Halloween

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!! It is my most favorite time of the year. Fall brings cooler weather, a beautiful change of color and for some reason it makes my home feel more warm. I used to go "all out" decorating for Halloween and Eric commented a few years ago that I must be loosing my passion for this holiday. I have come to realize that as the years pass and the kids get bigger I tend to focus more on my day to day schedule and forget how much of the little things I miss out on. I want my kids to have fun memories of growing up and doing fun things together like playing games and baking cookies. Speaking of baking, I hardly do it, I do bake more than I make dinner though. I was reading my cousin's blog last week and she had a recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Normally recipes don't catch my eye because I know that I am too lazy to commit to creating things, but this time I knew this is one recipe I could attempt without doing too much damage.

PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 box of spice cake mix
1 can of pumpkin (15oz)
1 cup of chocolate chips

mix those 3 things together, THAT IS IT!!!

bake at 350 for 15 minutes

GENIUS!!!! thanks jennie!

...3 kids in the tub

My parents have this fantastic tub that hardly ever gets used, it's a shame..anyway, I got this idea to take they boys to their house for a visit and let them "swim" in the tub. They thought it was funny that I made them where their undies, but I told them I wanted to take pictures so nekked bums wouldn't be "appoporate" as Archer would say. They had a ball!! Ryder was doing full on face dives into the water and Ethan even tried to do a cannon ball, I got drenched and got mad! Ethan and Archer both tried to "help" Ryder and of course that made him MAD. They love him so much that they just can't leave him alone to try things for himself.

In a nutshell

We had such a great weekend!!! First Eric picked up his sister Kelly from the airport then Kelly and I took the kids to the Elementary school Halloween carnival with E and Arch. They had lots of fun games, good food and plenty of enflatable bouncy things to play on, but of course the kids had the most fun playing on the playground. What technique!! So much like a monkey it is scary! This hurts my pitts to look at. Saturday Kelly showed us how to geocache and there were lots of fun things to find here in Tooele. The boys absolutely loved it! Eric and I had fun too and we are thinking we might have a new hobby...we will see.. We even helped Aunt Kelly find her 200th cache!

We listened to and watched General Conference and I cried almost the whole time. I love to hear from our wonderful Prophet.
