Weekend work

My dad finally gave us the "go-ahead" to tile the kitchen floor. We pulled up the carpet (by the way, carpet in the kitchen is crazy!!), laid the backer board, set the tile and then grouted it. Eric did most of the work, ok, he did everything except grout, my sister and I did that. I am really sore today. I think it is funny that when you get the idea to update something in the house the idea always seems easier than the task really is. We still aren't finished, we have to put the trim up around the room and finish off where the tile in the kitchen meets the laminent in the livingroom and hallway. I love it!

Not all of the weekend was work, we did spend the 24th with some great friends, great food and a fantastic fireworks show. I wish I had taken my camera so I could share pictures but I didn't so you will just have to imagine it in your head.

Funny story..

So Monday I was having kind-of a lazy day. I was laying on my bed with my arms up behind my head, armpits exposed. Ethan came into the room and was telling me something when all of the sudden he noticed my unshaven armpits (I know, yuck! I'm really embarassed that I am sharing this but it is funny). He gives me this look and says "Mom, why do you have hair like a man in your armpits???" It makes it sound like I have never shaved my pits, but really I only missed shaving them on that day and they were stubbly. Anyway, I waited for him to get done talking before I broke out into uncontrolable laughter. Ethan then looked at his armpits and said "I don't even have hair in my armpits mom!" It was so funny to me that seeing stubble in my armpits confused him so much.

Ryder is a walkin'

It has happened so quick and I even though he is a year old I am so not ready for my baby to be walking!! He loves to walk with his toy, he was crying last night and I couldn't figure out why... I gave him his walking toy and he started to giggle.

4th of July fun

WE LOVE THE 4TH OF JULY!!!!! We kicked the weekend off early with the last day of swim lessons. The boys loved going to the pool everyday, me too! Ethan is now able to swim really well and Archer is a bit more comfortable with it, he still really hates it when he gets splashed. Friday morning we woke up and went to the parade, it was great, it didn't seem like there was as much advertising going on as in past years. We came home from the parade and took naps or tried to at least. We braved the hot weather and went over to the park where Ethan took a ride on a mechanical bull, it was great, everyone was cheering him on. My brother and his girlfriend surprised us and came, we sat around and talked and jumped on the trampoline (he is pretty nimble for an old guy!!) Eric treated us to hamburgers, corn and various other yummy stuff for dinner and then we had our very own fireworks show.
